“Bee Camp” is an indoor-outdoor structure designed by Mimi Meacham of Marian Louise Designs, for her father Mike Bates, who has long loved leisurely alfresco afternoons in the Texas countryside

Built entirely of reclaimed wood and galvanized metal, Meacham decided on a poppy teal and bright bumblebee yellow color palette to evoke a friendly, inviting ambiance

An open floor plan allows for easy conversation with family and friends.

It was Meacham’s job to make sure that every aspect of the home was outdoor-friendly when she built this indoor/outdoor abode. In the kitchen, some call outs include a reclaimed wood table paired with vibrant yellow stacking chairs, a buffalo check indoor/outdoor rug, and stainless-steel cabinetry that contributes to the industrial aesthetic and makes for easy clean up.

The outdoor living room is the star of the home, the extra-large movie screen was inspired by the Starlite drive-in theater in Brenham, Texas.

In collaboration with The High Tech Home, Meacham selected and installed the custom SI projection screen and Epson Pro Cinema 4050 projector. The four-piece sectional sofa was chosen to make it easily convertible for different seating arrangements, a perfect space for entertaining guests.

Some additional highlights include a stainless-steel outdoor shower, a custom mural by Austin-based artist Avery Orendorf, a vintage Curtis Wright airstream for sleeping, a kitchenette, and a full farmhouse-inspired bathroom.

The bee design pn the throw rug is a perfectly fitting addition.

The retro vibe in the trailer makes it extra fun.
